Recordings of all 14 webinars from the Wild Wisconsin Winter Web Conference are available here. Watch sessions in 4 tracks — small & mighty, tech trends, adult services, and library management — plus opening and closing sessions. (Recorded webinars may be counted as a Category C continuing education actifity.)

The 8th annual WWWC was a state-wide virtual conference supported by all 16 library systems and DPI. Because of this collaboration, all sessions are available to you at no cost.

Today's Topic:  Let's play "Find that Patron!!" 

With the rising costs of Hoopla and long hold lists on Libby, it is more imporant than ever to always, always, check carefully for duplicate patrons whenever issuing a new card. 

Complicating matters, it was determined at an ALL-WALS meeting that all WALS libraries would enter patron names "as written" (except in ALL-CAPS) on their ID or application form.  This means that VanderZanden gets entered as "VANDERZANDEN" and "Van der Zanden" gets entered  as "VAN DER ZANDEN."  This means last names won't sort together anymore. You need to search by Phone, Street, and Birthdate.  Read More...

Have you noticed the HeritageQuest Online "Featured Resource" block on your main Research Tools page?  This is something new I've implemented for 2015 in the hopes of increasing usage on your electronic resources.  Each month, sometime between mid-month and the end of the month, I'll be featuring a different electronic resource.  Feel free to borrow the graphic, text, links (please right-click the link and "copy link location" to preserve the link I've used - contact me with any questions) if you'd like to promote the resource on your homepage, your Facebook, etc.  Let's get the word out th
