                        Lisa Murphy (LMR Cares, Inc., and former Community Education & Collaboration Coordinator with The Arc Fox Cities)

This diversity training will help you break down "fear barriers" when working with individuals with varying abilities/special needs.

Presenters will discuss:

  • Do's and Don'ts when working with patrons with physical and mental disabilities
  • Etiquette tips and using people-first language
  • Demonstrate assistive devices libraries can provide for patron use
  • Interacting with patrons who are disabled and may require assistance
  • Best practices for dealing with behavioral issues
