In 2012 Cari Schaffer accepted the position of Chair of the Fundraising Campaign and Planning Committee and represented the Board of Trustees on the Lancaster Public Library Foundation. She hit the ground running by pursuing a Community Development Block Grant that was awarded in 2013 for library expansion and renovation. The goal for the project is to create a larger, more efficient library, which is ADA compliant and has space for the community. With $2.8 million in pledges and cash, the fundraising for the library renovation is moving toward full funding and completion of the project in September 2015.
At this workshop, Cari will share …
- fundraising methods that succeeded in raising money
- collaborations with local businesses that brought in donations and increased the library’s visibility
