The Five Protective Factors presentation:

9:30 - 11:30am sorry, the morning session has been cancelled
1 - 3pm
Protective factors are conditions that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families. These attributes serve as buffers, helping caregivers find resources, support, or coping strategies that allow them to parent effectively, even under stress. Research has shown that the protective factors are linked to a lower incidence of child abuse and neglect. Attend this session to identify strategies to strengthen families who have experienced stress & challenging life situations, and to infuse those strategies into your everyday practice.
Presenter: Mandi Dornfeld, Family Living Educator and Certified Protective Factors Trainer, Winnebago County UW-Extension.

Bonus: Lunchtime Learning session

While you're enjoying lunch, members of the 2017 Youth Services Institute Cohort will provide an informal sharing time, where they'll share what they learned, and let us know ways we can help them succeed in their plans and goals.
Cohort members participating: Nicole Overbeck of Berlin Public Library, Hannah Schraufnagel of Neenah Public Library, and Becky Hoffman of Marion Public Library.
