What is Shoutbomb?
A software service that allows libraries to send SMS messages to all text message enabled phones. Patrons can reply, using pre-selected keywords, to request additional information or carry out tasks such as renewing items.
As a 3rd party software, Shoutbomb gives the patron the choice whether or not to receive SMS messages, and control over which messages he/she receives via text. Shoutbomb requires no staff intervention. That is worth repeating. Shoutbomb requires no staff intervention!
Shoutbomb is available to all Winnefox library patrons (including FDL's, altho' they will need to do their own setup and testing). WALS implemented Shoutbomb in early 2015.
