Oshkosh Area Community Foundation: Basic Needs
The Basic Needs Giving Partnership is investing an additional $1.275 million dollars in Winnebago, Green Lake and Waushara Counties in 2020-2021. Grant applications are now being accepted for organizations and projects that address economic stability, education, health + wellness, and family support/social connectedness.

  • Eligible applicants: Winnebago County, Waushara County, Green Lake County, or the city of Ripon
  • Award Amount: Single or multi-year grant funding is available, with multi-year grants typically up to $300,000 over three years
  • Deadline: Proposals will be accepted continuously, and grants will be distributed on a rolling basis to allow for the most flexible response to evolving needs. The grants team will review requests on an ongoing basis with funding decisions to be made within two months of the request submission.

Technology Opportunities:

Oshkosh Area Community Foundation: Community Impact Program
Grant opporutnities focusing on nonprofit resilience. Potential grant projects: achieve your fundraising goals by efficiently using your time and existing resources, including board members and other volunteers; migrate business operations to the cloud, move to a virtual phone system, or leverage technology to improve efficiency and quality of services; analyze current performance of your website and social media efforts along with the opportunity to implement recommendations.

Literacy Offerings:

Wish You Well Foundation:
The Wish You Well Foundation supports adult and family literacy in the United States by fostering and promoting the development and expansion of new and existing literacy and educational programs. Donations are made to programs and projects that relate to and aid in this stated mission. The foundation reviews donation requests with a wide array of funding needs. Previous grants were used to fund adult education, literacy programs, English language education programs, workforce development training, libraries, and learning centers for individuals with disabilities.

  • Eligible Applicants: Schools and nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations

Literacy Opporuntunity Fund:
The literacy Opportunity Fund awards grants to nonprofit organizations within the U.S. that provide literacy services directly to students. Funded by the Nora Roberts Foundation and administered by ProLiteracy, the Literacy Opportunity Fund distributes grants of $3,000 to $6,000 to support general operating expenses. To be eligible for this grant, your organization must be a registered nonprofit with 501(c)3 status. Literacy organizations are eligible to apply once, annually

Rural Public Library Grants:
The Pilcrow Foundation accepts applications from independent rural public libraries and Native American Tribal libraries as well as libraries that are part of a county, regional, or cooperative system. The Foundation accepts applications from school libraries only if the school library also serves as the community’s public library (i.e. it is open to the entire community; has summer hours; is open beyond the school day, including Saturdays; there is no public library in town) and meets the budgetary and rural requirements.

TPS Regional Grant Program:
 The TPS Regional program promotes the widespread, sustained, and effective use of primary sources from the Library of Congress in K-12 classrooms by increasing access to the TPS program. Through this effort, hundreds of organizations from all 50 states, and the District of Columbia have enhanced their programming for educators.  May apply for grants of up to $25,000 to incorporate TPS materials and methods into their existing education and professional development programs for pre and in-service teachers, librarians, and other K-12 educators.

Ezra Jack Keats (EJK) Foundation Mini-Grant Program
Created by the children’s book author and illustrator, the Ezra Jack Keats (EJK) Foundation Mini-Grant Program is a creative and innovative activity that takes place in class or out in the community, and provides an enriched experience. Mini Grants provide teachers and librarians an opportunity to present a special project outside the standard curriculum or an engaging way to help students meet curricular goals. Examples of projects are story walks, multicultural portrait projects, school gardens, bookmaking, puppetry, and intergenerational storytelling. Programs funded in the past have included: a reader’s theater workshop; a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) event; and a summer reading program. Eligible applicants are public schools, public libraries, and public preschool programs in the United States and its territories. Applications must be submitted online.
