Storytime still going strong! Is it too cold for Movie Nights? Circulation woes.

The cold weather knocked down some of our Storytime attendance last week, but this week we were back bigger than ever! Next week we celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday with a really neat craft! It's the Cat in the Hat's hat, with a push-up Cat in the Hat balancing the fish in the bowl, books, etc. The kids color in the push-up part and attach it, then it comes up out of the hat! If you'd like to have a copy of the craft I can send you a pdf file. It takes some prep time, depending on your storytime ages (my staff crafter says "never again!"). You'll also need toilet paper tubes.

We're doing the movie Freebirds tonight, and Frozen on March 20. Not so sure how many will come for Freebirds - it's so cold! The last movie only had 8 attending, when I usually get 20-30.

This winter has made program attendance really low for almost everything. It has also really hurt circulation numbers. On a positive note, Our Mystery Date with a Book went pretty well, although it took staff to push it as some folks didn't quite understand the concept!

Academy Award winners for the next display.

Campbellsport is also struggling with getting people to attend programs in this weather. If it isn't the cold, it seems that it just happens to be snowing when we have events planned.
