Join Geri Ceci Cupery and Karen Wendt for "Much Ado About SLP 2010!", presenting programming ideas for preschool, school-age, and young teens.
This workshop will include:
- Making murals – on a large or small scale
- Using reader's theater to “make a splash” at school-age programs or school visits
- Ways to make quick & easy flannelgraphs
- Everything needed to hold a “Hawaiian Luau Party” family program
- Favorite books to fit the theme (new & classic) that you just can’t pass up
- Art & craft ideas such as recycled art sea creatures, wonderful watercolors, and aquarium art
- Outlines for six weeks of “Make a Splash” preschool storytimes
- Tips on how to use teens as volunteers for events and for summer reading registration & rewards
- Strategies to streamline your reading incentive program
Finally, Geri and Karen will highlight a few ideas in the 2010 SLP Manual that they find noteworthy – not to mention the classic 1998 manual, “Makes Waves – Read!” published by the Wisconsin Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning.
Add to your pool of 2010 summer program ideas, and join us for a swimmingly good time!
