Barcoding when call number record does not exist

 

The add volumes and call numbers wizard allows for the addition of call number records to a bibliographic record.

 

 

  1. Place your cursor on the Add volumes and call numbers wizard and click the right button on your mouse.  Select properties from the list.  Change the library to your library.  Change the location, type, item cat 1 and item cat 2 to correspond with the majority of titles to be barcoded.


  2. Click OK
  3. Click the Add volumes and call numbers wizard
  4. Enter an ISBN search


  5. Click OK.



    (If title does not come up under an ISBN search, do a title search in the browse index; if title still does not appear move to section on barcoding when item is not on system)
  6. Click on Add call number


  7. If the properties under the Add volumes and call numbers wizard have been filled in, this choice should be at your library, you only click OK.



    The number in the new call number field is system supplied.
  8. Change the call number


  9. Using your tab key to move forward fields, or using the mouse, position your cursor over the item ID field in the copy info and scan barcode.


  10. Click on OK



  11. If there is another copy for your library click Add another copy.  If you have more titles to barcode, click Lookup Another Title.  If you are done, click Close
