Barcoding when item is on database and a call number record exists

  1. Place your cursor on the Edit Existing volumes and call numbers wizard and click the right button on your mouse.  Select properties from the list.  Change the location, type, item cat 1 and item cat to correspond with the majority of titles to be barcoded.


  2. Click on OK
  3. Click the Edit Existing volumes and call numbers wizard.
  4. Enter an ISBN search.
  5. Click on OK


  6. Highlight the call number you want to change by clicking once on that call number.  Click on Modify vol/copy.


  7. Fill in the call number information.  (At this time we cannot determine what is controlling the choice of AUTO in the class scheme when we find this information we will change it to DEWEY, but for present time it will be need to be changed manually.)


  8. Fill in the copy information by removing current item id and scanning barcode in its place.  Change the type, home location, item cat1, item cat2 to the desired information (When a book is ordered this record is originally created, we have not discovered any way for the preferences set up to override these defaults)


  9. Click on OK.
