Add a Brief Title Wizard (Equivalent of On-the-Fly in DRA)

Use the Add Brief Title wizard when you need to circulate a book that has not been fully cataloged. This wizard creates a brief record to circulate the item. When discharged, the item will be routed to cataloging so a full record can replace the brief record.

  1. Click the Add Brief Title wizard .


  2. Enter the Personal Author and Title. Title is a required field. Clear the Title box with the backspace or delete key.
  3. Enter the Call Number if you wish.
  4. Click on the dropdown arrow next to the Item Type window to display a list of item types. Click on a selection. This entry determines the loan period, fines and maximum fine the item will be assessed.
  5. Clear the Item ID field with the backspace or delete key.
  6. Wand in the barcode you are assigning to the on-the-fly item.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Review the next step options.
