Remove Item Hold Wizard (equivalent of Clear Hold in DRA)

The Remove Item Hold wizard guides you through the process of removing a hold placed on a specific item.

  1. Click the Remove Item Hold wizard .



  2. In the Item Lookup field, scan the item's barcode.



  3. Find the user's hold on the list that is to be removed. Review this information to make sure that you remove the correct item hold!

    If the hold is AVAILABLE that means the book is on a Hold Shelf waiting to be picked up. You must have the book in hand to clear these!

    If the hold is UNAVAILABLE that means that the hold has not been filled yet. This is the equivalent of DRA's Outstanding reserves. You may clear Unavailable holds without having the book in hand.
  4. Click on the Remove box of the hold you wish to clear.



  5. Click OK.

 

If an AVAILABLE hold is removed, the Remove Item Hold wizard checks to see if the item has another hold on it and which library owns the item. If the next hold has a different pickup library, or if the item belongs to a different library, the wizard prompts you to put the item in transit.

If the item belongs to your library, you will be directed to return the book to the stacks.
