- Click the Discharge wizard

- Enter the barcode of the charged item.
- Click OK or press the Enter key (this is necessary only if the barcode number is manually typed in).
- Repeat for each item.
NOTE: After discharging an overdue item, a user alert window displays.

The name of the patron who returned the item is displayed at the top of the window if the item is overdue. The alert window also displays if the item isn't overdue but the user owes fees from before.
No alert box is displayed if the item is not overdue and the user has no other fines.
- If a patron is ready to pay, click Pay Bill Now.
-OR-
If the patron is paying later, click OK.
-OR-
Click Investigate Status to open a new window that displays user summary and detailed bill information. HOWEVER, YOU CAN NOT PAY BILLS FROM THIS WINDOW.
For this example, click Pay Bills Now.

- If multiple charges apply, determine if the user is paying Total Bills and Payments or Individual Bills and Payments.
- Before making any payments, click on the glossary (the underlined money amount) for each item to determine if the bill is for a returned item, an add-a-charge, or a lost item. Remember to write a receipt for lost items!
- Enter the payment amount in the applicable section and click OK.

Note: In multi-library sites, library materials checked in at a library other than the owning library trigger a transit message on the screen.

If you click Put Item In Transit, the next screen will display:

If you click OK, the next screen will display:

The List of Discharges window shows that the item above is now in transit to Menasha. Note the T on the right side of the window. If the item was also overdue and a fine was assessed a $ appears next to the T.
