The Item Search and Display wizard guides you through the process of identifying a specific title in your library and displays information at the title, call number and copy level. At the copy level, other types of information related to the item's circulation and holds are also available. Information cannot be edited using this wizard.
- Click the Item Search and Display wizard.
.

- In the Item Lookup window select the Search, Browse, or Exact radio button.
Search is a keyword search
Browse produces a list of cataloged headings in the alphabetic vicinity of the term and may be browsed forward and backward.
Exact displays an exact match. If no exact match is found, an appropriate browse list in the alphabetic vicinity is displayed.
Current Title displays the last item record that was displayed or modified.
- Using the drop-down list, select an author, title, call number, subject, or item ID search.

- Enter a search.

- Click OK.
NOTE: A call number search must be a browse search and a specific library must be chosen.

- If a list of matching records displays, select one of the results by clicking on it and then click on Detailed Display. You may also Browse Backward or Browse Forward to display more results. Or you may perform another search by clicking on Lookup Another.
If another selection list appears (as in the example above with the title High Five), select one of the results by clicking on it and then click on Detailed Display again.

- The item record information always enters at the Bib. Tab. This displays the full Marc record with numeric and descriptive tags. The information at this tab is common to all volumes and copies of the title.
Information underlined with a solid line will perform a hypertext search when you click it.
- Click on the All Volumes tab. Volume and Copy Information is available from the All Volumes tab. This tab provides information about:
- The number of copies
- The item ID (barcode number)
- Item type
- Current location
- Number of holds
Copies for the library of the login appear first. For example, in the screen below, Oshkosh Public Library is logged on. Therefore, their copies display first.
Following the copies of the logged on library, the copies are grouped by library alphabetically and then by call number at that library.

NOTE: An item appears differently if it has a single Vol/Copy or has multiple Vols/Copies. An example of multiple copies appears on page 16. An example of a single copy appears below.

- Information underlined with a dashed line will display a glossary when you click on it. Further information about each item is provided in the glossary:
- Item price
- Date last charged
- Date last discharged
- Previous user ID
- Last activity
- Total checkouts
NOTE: Click anywhere on the white glossary screen to close it.

- To obtain information about a specific copy, click on the copy (not on the barcode number) and then click Display Vol/Copy.

- Information about that specific copy is now available by clicking on the following tabs:
Circ Info
Bills
Checkouts
Holds
Selections
Orders
Other tabs with information include:
- Control-bibliographic information common to all volumes and copies of the title
- MARC Holdings
NOTE: You may use the Display Description helper (see pg. 18) at any tab to display:
The essentials of the MARC record
Full volume and copy information

NOTE: One library's holds can be separated out and displayed with the use of the ITEM SEARCH and DISPLAY wizard. Enter a search. At the All Volumes tab, select a copy, then click Display Vol/Copy. Click on the >>> tab. Go to the Holds tab. Click the display options box. Under Library selections click the radio button for Pickup Library. Next select the radio button for Individual Library and click on the library you want to display.
