Configuring Squirrelmail to Save E-mail

Unlike Outlook, Squirrelmail does not provide an option to synchronize e-mail. You can, however, use it to save messages that you want to keep, should anything happen to the mail server.

To do this, click on a message you want to save. At the bottom of each message, you will see a link labeled Download this as a file:

Clicking on this link will bring up this save box:

You want to make sure the box next to Save to Disk is checked, and click on OK:

This box is asking you where you want to put it. If you've got a network share available, I recommend putting them there. Once you pick where you want it to go, click the OK button.

If you notice, Squirrelmail defaults to name the file whatever the subject line is, so it will be easy to find should you ever need it.

If you have any questions, please call or e-mail Jody or Pete.
