Outlook - Advanced ManualTasks Adding a Task You can use the Tasks component of Outlook to manage your tasks, sort of a to-do list. Tasks are useful for prioritizing tasks, tracking their progress, and performing other task-management related functions. You can quickly see if a task is overdue, because it will be red in color. How to: Click the Tasks button:
Click the New Task button:
Type in the Subject of your task, and any other information, such as a due date. You can set a reminder for the Task, by clicking in the box next to Reminder, and setting how much time before the task you want it to remind you. Also, you can have this be a recurring task (such as taking out the garbage) by clicking on the Recurrence button:
Finally, you can assign this task to another person by clicking on the Assign Task button:
This simply changes the dialog box to have a To field.This is where you would add (just like email) who you want to assign this task to. Once the task is how you want it, click on the Save and Close button:
