Filters & EZProxy
If you are using X-stop as a filter on your public PC's, there is a conflict with EZProxy that can cause errors when trying to view an online resource. As a work around, you must add an entry to the exceptions in Internet Explorer. To do this first disable the security software by holding down the Ctrl and Shift buttons, then tapping the F key. Fortres will prompt you for a password. Enter your libraries' password and hit Enter. Once Fortres has been opened, security is disabled, and you only need to minimize Fortres. Open Internet Explorer and select Internet Options from the Tools menu. Then click on the Connections tab.
Click on the LAN Settings button near the bottom-right of the window.
Finally, click on the Advanced button to open up the exceptions window.
In the Exceptions box, enter the information displayed in the example: *.yourlibrary.org;205.213.111.19;205.213.111.20 But substitute the last part of the web address where it reads "yourlibrary." For example, Ripon would enter *.riponlibrary.org and Wild Rose would enter *.wildroselibrary.org. |
